Last night I posted about books we are reading to prepare Katherine for being a big sister. We do talk about it a lot. I was really close to my baby brother and mom said that she thought part of why I adjusted so well was that she included me in as much of the pregnancy as possible.
Katherine seems to get that there is a baby sister in mommy's tummy. Today she started saying that there was a baby sister in her tummy too! She loves the baby sister in mommy's tummy. She will rub my belly, kiss it and even give it zerberts/strawberries. Sometimes she is not as gentle and will sit or jump on my tummy and that is not fun.
This week she decided that the baby was hungry while she was eating her snack of goldfish. She lifted my shirt and proceeded to put goldfish in my belly button. Tonight she decided that the baby was thirsty and gave her a drink of juice through my belly button. Perfectly logical for a 2 year old to think that the hole in mommy's belly would be how to get food and drink it.
