Dance Recital

Katherine loves taking dance. This year she took a combo ballet and tap class with one of her best friends. She loves to perform and could not wait for the recital. Her dance was tap and they were to wear their hair in curly ponytails. So, that meant we got to put her hair in sponge curlers for the first time. Of course, if Katherine gets curlers, so does Caroline. They were so excited.

The result of curlers was a Shirley Temple look. It stayed all day.
At the dress rehearsal Katherine was the furthest one from the teacher so she was not always doing the correct move at the correct time but she had a constant large smile on her face. She said it was so much fun to be on stage and dance.



On the night of the rehearsal she was moved to the center of the stage (2nd from right in these pictures). She did better at doing the correct steps and had just as large of a smile.



The girl next to her got bored with the recital (it was over 4 minute long) and so she started doing her own dance. I love preschool recitals. They are so funny.
After the recital we gave her flowers. She acted shocked and excited. It as so cute.

Nana and Pops.

Arbo...with Nana and Pops

Look where we are again, yes, the Arboretum. I told you it was one of our favorite destinations in the fall and spring. This week we went with Nana and Pops. They buy me the membership every year for Christmas and in return, we take them with us as much as we can.

Grammy and Grandad

We love it when Grammy and Grandad come for a visit. And they love to come visit the arboretum with us. It was a beautiful day!

Swimming

This year we took swimming lessons during the spring. I wanted the girls to start the summer ready for the water. It was a group class but my two girls were the only ones in the group so it was pretty much a private lesson. They did great and really learned a lot. Thank goodness it was indoors because the first few weeks (in February) was when we had lots of freezing weather.

Our first swimming trip of the year was on April 8th after our preschool co-op. It was a little too cold for me to get in but the kids loved it. I sat on the outside ready to jump in if needed. Thank goodness they did not need it.

Bluebonnets...a Texas tradition

I now know of a great bluebonnet field only about 15 minutes from our house. Too bad it was so windy. I love bluebonnets and my girls look great in blue. Now if only I could get both of them to look at the camera and smile at the same time. . .

Easter dresses

We went to the Arboretum (yet again). This time it was with the goal of taking pictures of the girls in the Easter Dresses that Nana gave them. It is nearly impossible to get photos of the two of them together, both looking, both smiling.





They insisted on bringing their stuffed animals and having them in some pictures.
We were there with friends and handsome Hampton joined in with the pictures.
