Ballet Recital

Katherine loves ballet. She has taken class at the rec center this semester every Tuesday. There is nothing cuter than preschool ballet. They are really not that coordinated but they all love it. The recital is always a much anticipated event. Of course you have to start with the dress rehearsal. Here she is with one of her best friends Emma who is another class.

When her class lined up to practice, Caroline jumped right in line to dance too. I love how Katherine is so sweetly explaining that she cannot go but that she will take her own baby ballet class soon.
She is such a proud, beautiful ballerina.

Trip to Grammy's House

We had not been to Grammy's house since Christmas so we went over the weekend. On Saturday Katherine, Grammy and I went to a local production of Geppetto and Son which was a story about Pinocchio and his dad. It was really cute. Katherine loved it.

After the play we got autographs from some of the cast members. There were about 20 kids and teens in the show so we started with them.

The rest of the weekend was just spent around the house, relaxing, eating, and playing with Grammy and Grandad.

End of School Program

End of year program

Katherine's preschool had an end of school year program. It was so cute. There are 2 classes of 3 (not mostly4) year olds. First they all walked in. Katherine was all smiles. They were so excited while waiting.
They sang about 8 songs varying from Jesus loves me to the "Baby Bumble Bee" song.
I love how some kids are very excited and animated and others are very calm. At any given time there would be at least one picking their nose, lifting up their shirt, turning around or eating their hair. Katherine ate her hair and played with her dress. I was pretty scared it was going to end up over her head.

Then they are smashing up their baby bumble bee.
The class is singing "I'm a nut" but Katherine is playing with her hair.
They were so cute and it was so fun to see them all up on stage.

From bucket to bouquet

Right now both of my girls love nature and love picking flowers. On every walk or trip to the park we return with various flowers (really weeds) to put in vases. Sam thought it would be neat to take them to a field to pick wildflowers to make me a bouquet for Mother's Day. Due to a crazy day and naps it ended up being a family outing instead of a surprise and it was so much fun.

We could not believe how many varieties of wild flowers and flowering weeds there were in one field. I bet there were at least 15 kinds in our bucket.




When we got home, Katherine and Sam arranged the flowers into 4 vases. They are beautiful and Katherine was so proud.

Home Makeover

My bedroom has been driving me crazy. It seems to be the messiest room in the house that gets cleaned the last. Stuff just piles up in there. This past week Sam was out of town for a few days and one of my goals was to clean out our room. Then my mom redid her room and had some bedding that she gave me if I could use it. Sam called to tell me he was on his way home from the airport and I had not started yet. So, in 45 minutes I cleared every item that did not belong from the room. It is all in a tub in the dining room, waiting to be sorted. I then put the new bedding on our bed. It coordinated well with what we already had so that was a bonus. Here are the before and after photos.

Looking into the former dressing room. Now that piece of furniture in the nook is my scrapbook armoire.

Looking at our bed. I hate all the clutter. The plaid bedspread is what we already had. The original dust ruffle was solid, the color of the window treatments. I had already put the new one on when I took the photos. The pillows (6 huge fluffy king size pillows) were from my mom along with the dust ruffle and the cream coverlet. My favorite part of course are the models on the bed.

Finally, here is the view toward my dresser and Sam's closet. I still need to get rid of the book case but I ran out of time.

Sam was surprised, especially when I told him that I did it all after he called. He liked it, especially the lack of clutter.
