Melts my heart

I love all of the fun things that Katherine says. As Nana and I say, she is now fluent in English. I am amazed at her vocabulary and ability to communicate. Here are a few of my recent favorites.

Friday when I was reading to her and snuggling at nap time we had the following conversation.

Katherine: "Mommy, I wish you were a kid still."

Me: "Why"

Katherine: "Because you would be my best friend."

Then Saturday she had a surprise afternoon with Nana and Pops. Here is a conversation with Nana.

Katherine: "What day is today?"

Nana: "Saturday."

Katherine: "Saturday is my favorite day."

Nana: "Why?"

Katherine: Because Saturday is a Nana day."

Prayer

I am trying to pray more with Katherine. We pray before nap and bedtime as well as at most meals. Last week she was in a foul mood when it was time to leave for school because I would not let her stay home and watch TV. When we got in the car, I asked her if she wanted to pray. So I prayed that she would have a good day at school, calm down, have fun, obey her teachers, etc. After I said "Amen", she said, "mommy, we need to pray that daddy's tummy feel better." It was so sweet and the first time she had asked me to pray for something specific. I thought it was a fun new stage where she understands more about God.

ABC's of Prayer

Tonight when we were saying our prayers tonight at bed, I asked Katherine what she wanted to pray for. She said "ABC's" That is her obsession right now. I told her to go ahead and here is her prayer.

"Dear Jesus, Thanks you for ABC's. Thank you for a 'K'. Thank you for 'B'. Thank you for 'P' and 'W' and 'U'. Amen"

The K is for Katherine, B for our last name, P for Pops, W for Will. I am not sure about the U.
