Easter Sunday

Easter - it is the most important of the holidays but if often is rushed through. This year I really tried to focus on Easter more in the preceeding weeks but I still need to work on our focus. We did the resurrection eggs but I still felt that it was very hurried.
I tried to downplay the Easter basket but that is really hard as well. I gave them these totes from Thirty-One filled with a few things and their main gift was a CD by Jamie Grace whom we love.
The girls saw me with hot rollers (a very rare thing) and both wanted me to curl their hair too. Caroline was soooo excited.
Our church has these new cross sculptures which was a perfect backdrop for Easter pictures.

Sweet Sisters

After church we went to Nana and Pops' house where we had lunch and hunted eggs. With over 100 eggs and only 2 kids it really is more of a hunt. The eggs are all filled with little trinkets.

Choir Performance

This year the girls did choir at church. They performed in "big church". Katherine loved it and really got into it. Caroline tolerated it. Unfortunately they performed during 2nd service and were taken to their class. Then I had to pick them up and take them back to the choir teacher. The second drop off did not go well for Caroline and she did not sing the second time. In fact, Sam went down the aisle with her while she waved her palm branch and then she came to sit with me.

Easter Egg hunt

For the third year we went to the Easter Egg hunt at the church where we have gone to preschool. It seems to get more and more popular each year. This year we were not even able to do all of the activities because the wait for the petting zoo was so long.
Katherine got her face painted to match her shirt.

The egg "hut" is really more of a gather. Caroline was one of the older kids in the younger group so it was pretty easy for her.

Trinity River Audubon Center

Our membership with the Arboretum includes 6 events throughout the year at other museums in our town. We try our best to attend these events but somehow we have always had to miss the one at the Audubon Center. This year we were finally able to go and we thoroughly enjoyed the morning. They had special activities set up for the kids and then we were able to take a nature hike to look for different birds. We look forward to going back soon.

The kids were able to paint their own faces which was a lot of fun.
 Such a sweet sister picture.

 Taking a break

We found this one HUGE iris in the middle of our hike. Then there was a beautiful butterfly that decided to collect its nectar.
